Job summary

Pembrokeshire County Council seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor Level 3 and Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support learning and supervise classes during teacher absences. The role combines Level 3 responsibilities with Level 2 duties across the school, focusing on inclusive learning and pupil engagement.

The post requires a Level 3 qualification, relevant experience, and strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

A recognised Level 3 qualification relevant to the role.
Minimum two years' recent relevant experience supporting children and young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents/carers.
Strong organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Commitment to inclusion, equality and safeguarding.
Professional conduct at all times.

Responsibilities

Support pupils' learning and development on an individual and group basis.
Assist with the planning and delivery of learning activities.
Support pupils with additional learning needs.
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Deliver targeted interventions and support programmes.
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, purposeful learning environment.
Prepare and organise learning resources.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external agencies.
Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school.
