Job summary

Byerley Park Primary School in Newton Aycliffe (Durham County Council) is seeking a teaching assistant to join our dedicated team as soon as possible. The post is temporary, part-time 16.25 hours per week, Mon–Fri 9:00–12:15 with afternoon hours to be negotiated, term time only plus two weeks.

The successful candidate will support individuals and groups of children, cover a whole class in the absence of a teacher and work with children with SEND needs.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 GCSEs A-C including English and Maths
• CACHE Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Experience with safeguarding and DBS checks will be required

Responsibilities

• Support individuals and groups of children in class
• Cover a whole class in the absence of a teacher
• Work with children with a range of SEND needs
