Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a dynamic Learning Support Assistant for Birchwood Grove CP School. You will work with pupils, including those with SEND, to support learning and development on a daily basis.

The role is permanent, term-time only, Monday to Friday, with pay £12.65–£13.05 per hour. You will contribute to a caring team, assist with 1:1 support, and maintain records under supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Ability to work with groups or individuals in various settings.
• Effective communication with parents and staff.
• Move and handle a pupil with cerebral palsy.
• Able to undertake First Aider duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils in class, outside, or on trips.
• Assist with 1:1 learning and independence skills.
• Escort children to hospital in emergencies.
• Maintain records and liaise with SENCO.
• Support teaching and adapt activities for accessibility.
