Job summary

Birchwood Grove CP School is seeking a dynamic Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated team. The role focuses on supporting pupils, including those with SEND, to fulfil their potential within a caring school community.

You will work under the guidance of teachers, assist with everyday classroom activities, and provide 1:1 or small-group support as needed. The position offers term-time, permanent employment with a daily schedule in school hours.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils, including those with special educational needs.
• Ability to work effectively in a vibrant, collaborative school environment.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding and relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in groups inside or outside the classroom.
• Assist with daily living skills and mobility tasks as needed.
• Support learning activities and adapt tasks to pupils' needs.
• Maintain records and liaise with the SENCO and teachers.
• Ensure pupil safety and report safeguarding concerns.
• Provide first-aid support and accompany pupils on visits.
• Assist with playground supervision and off-site activities.
