Job summary

Islamia Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in North West London. You will support pupils with diverse needs, helping them access learning and participate in class activities.

The role requires enthusiasm, reliability and the ability to work well with teachers, pupils and parents; term-time hours are 8.15am to 4.15pm with pro rata pay and a start date in November 2026.

Qualifications

  • Ambitious, energetic and outstanding primary practitioner with excellent knowledge of SEN children and their needs.
  • Experience of supporting pupils in a school setting.
  • Able to work as part of a team and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • To carry out work, care and support programmes for pupils under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff.
  • To enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
  • To contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of Islamia Primary School.
  • Supervise and provide support and assistance to individuals and groups of pupils including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Undertake structured and agreed learning activities and teaching programmes for individuals and groups of pupils, including local and national learning strategies such as literacy, numeracy, early years, KS3.
  • Adjust learning activities and teaching programmes to take account of pupil needs and responses.
