Islamia Primary School is seeking to appoint an ambitious and committed Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team and play an important role in the next chapter of our school.
Islamia is a two-form-entry Voluntary Aided Muslim primary school with a proud history, strong Islamic ethos and diverse community.
Our aspiration is to build something beautiful: a school where every child flourishes academically, spiritually and morally; where adults grow as leaders; and where our whole community is united by a culture of excellence.
This is a whole-school leadership role and is not attached to one fixed area of responsibility. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team to support the strategic leadership, development and day-to-day management of the school. Specific leadership responsibilities will be determined by the Headteacher according to the strengths of the successful candidate and the changing priorities and needs of the school.
We are looking for an excellent practitioner and developing or established leader who has high expectations for pupils and staff, is committed to continuous improvement and will actively support and promote the Islamic ethos and values of the school.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a school with a unique history and an ambitious future. If you are driven by the delivery of an excellent education and keen to develop your leadership within an ambitious, values-led school, we would love to hear from you.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds who are able to support and uphold our Islamic ethos and values. We warmly encourage prospective candidates to come and visit us — meet our wonderful pupils and dedicated staff and learn more about our vision for the future.
Islamia Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate safeguarding and pre employment checks, including references, checks with previous employers and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. In accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education, the school may carry out an online search as part of its due diligence on shortlisted candidates. Any information identified that is relevant to the candidate’s suitability to work with children may be discussed at interview. This was recommended by the LA during our Safeguarding Review last September.
