Job summary

Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a SEN Class Teacher to join a primary school in Tottenham (N17) for a September 2026 start. The role involves teaching a class of pupils aged 4-16 with a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex needs and SLCN, with some ASC. The successful candidate will hold QTS or equivalent and have experience with PMLD, ASD, Complex Needs and related areas.

DBS enhanced check is required. The contract is full-time, long-term/permanent.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required to teach in a SEN setting.
• Experience with PMLD, ASD, Complex Needs and related conditions is essential.
• Enhanced DBS certificate is required for safeguarding.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents/careers.

Responsibilities

• Teach a class of pupils with mixed needs using a semi-formal curriculum.
• Work closely with parents/careers and other staff to support learning.
• Adapt the syllabus according to individual EHCPs and monitor progress.
• Utilise a range of assessment strategies to evaluate pupil progress.
