Job summary

Marchant Recruitment supports a Sunderland secondary school in recruiting a Cover Supervisor to maintain learning during teacher absences. You will lead pre-planned lessons for KS3 and KS4, ensuring students complete work and stay on task in a disciplined environment.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification or strong secondary classroom/youth leadership experience.
• Strong classroom presence, confidence and behavior management.
• Excellent communication, adaptability and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle timetable shifts and varied subjects.
• Active enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pre-set lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Create a safe, structured learning environment in every classroom.
• Enforce behavior management policy consistently.
• Distribute learning materials and explain set instructions.
• Take electronic attendance registers at the start of each period.
• Leave clear handover notes for returning teachers.
