Job summary

Marchant Recruitment seeks a knowledgeable Business Studies Teacher for a secondary school in Oldham. The role involves teaching Business Studies to GCSE/A‑level, with emphasis on commercial awareness and applying real‑world examples to lessons.

You will plan and deliver lessons across marketing, finance, operations and HR, supporting students towards assessment success and developing their analytical and written communication skills. The post is full‑time and permanent.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the relevant examination specification.
• The ability to explain business concepts using practical examples.
• Effective classroom management, planning and assessment skills.
• A commitment to helping students achieve their academic potential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Business Studies lessons in line with the relevant curriculum and examination specifications.
• Teach topics including business ownership, marketing, finance, operations and human resources.
• Use real-world examples and case studies to explain business concepts.
• Develop students' ability to analyse business information and evaluate different strategies.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and relevant examinations.
• Support students in developing their written communication, numeracy and decision-making skills.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
• Assess student work and provide clear feedback to support improvement.
• Encourage discussion of current business issues and commercial developments.
• Contribute to departmental planning, resource development and curriculum review.
