Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a qualified Secondary School Art Teacher to work across Lewisham, South East London, delivering engaging Art lessons and supporting pupils.

The role covers daily supply and longer-term placements, with pay rates £150-£170 per day for daily supply and Inner London scales for long-term contracts.

Candidates need QTS, a degree in Art or related subject, and strong classroom management; safeguarding and inclusion are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised in England.
• Degree in Art, Fine Art, Art and Design or closely related subject.
• Previous secondary school teaching experience.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver engaging Art lessons.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons in line with the secondary school curriculum.
• Teach Art to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with KS5 when required.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Assess, monitor and provide constructive feedback on progress.
• Maintain effective classroom and behavior management.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet varying abilities and learning needs.
• Collaborate with staff and leadership to support student achievement.
• Follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
