Teaching Personnel are seeking a Science Technician for a welcoming secondary school in Farnworth, Bolton, starting September 2026. The role involves preparing equipment, supporting teachers with experiments, and maintaining laboratories to ensure safe, well-organised spaces.

The ideal candidate has prior science technician or laboratory experience and is organised, reliable, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• The school would ideally suit someone with previous experience as a Science Technician, Laboratory Technician or in a relevant scientific or technical environment.
• You will be organised, reliable and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment and resources for practical Science lessons.
• Supporting teachers with experiments and demonstrations.
• Maintaining and organising laboratories and equipment.
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies.
• Carrying out routine checks and basic equipment maintenance.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
