Job summary

TEEM Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a dependable School Caretaker / Site Manager for a busy school in Oldham. You will manage day-to-day site operations, ensure security, cleanliness and a welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The role is full-time and temporary – initially 2 months, with potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Start ASAP. Monday to Friday split shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in school maintenance or facilities is preferred.
• Strong maintenance and DIY skills with attention to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a school team.
• DBS enhanced disclosure check is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily upkeep, maintenance and security of the school site, including opening/closing.
• Carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
• Undertake basic DIY work; painting/decorating experience helpful.
• Keep records for maintenance, compliance and safety checks.
• Ensure premises are high standard, addressing issues promptly.
• Coordinate with contractors and supervise on-site works.
• Assist with room setups and site logistics for events.
• Support health and safety/compliance, including asbestos/Legionella awareness.
• Monitor site for safety/security issues and report promptly.
• Assist emergency procedures and keep the site secure.
• Collaborate with staff, contractors and visitors.
