Job summary

TEEM Recruitment Ltd seeks a dependable School Caretaker / Site Manager to support a busy school in Coventry. You’ll help keep the premises safe, secure, clean and fully operational for pupils, staff and visitors.

You’ll be practical, organised and able to work independently while contributing to the wider school team, maintaining high site standards and liaising with contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• The candidate should be practical, organised and able to work independently while contributing to the wider school team.
• Maintain accurate records relating to maintenance, compliance, health & safety and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks.
• Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance duties.
• Undertake basic DIY tasks; painting and decorating experience would be advantageous.
• Ensure the premises remain clean, safe and fully operational.
• Liaise with contractors and oversee works carried out on site.
• Support site logistics for school events and activities.
• Assist with school compliance procedures, including asbestos awareness and site safety monitoring.
• Identify and report maintenance, health & safety and security issues promptly.
• Respond proactively to issues affecting safety, security or smooth operation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily upkeep, maintenance and security of the school site.
• Open and lock up the school premises as required.
• Liaise with contractors and oversee works carried out on site.
• Assist with setting up rooms and supporting site logistics for school events.
