Job summary

Teaching Personnel is hiring a Science Technician for a full-time, long-term role at a secondary school in Tadley. The successful candidate will support the Science department with practical lessons, handling equipment, materials and chemicals while upholding COSHH and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have experience in a school laboratory or related technical environment, with strong organisational and communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding student welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school laboratory or scientific environment.
• Ability to prepare equipment and resources for experiments.
• Commitment to laboratory safety and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, materials and chemicals for practical lessons.
• Set up and clear away experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Check, maintain and safely store laboratory equipment.
• Manage stock and support ordering of resources.
• Ensure chemicals are labelled, stored and disposed of correctly.
• Support teachers during practical activities where required.
• Complete routine maintenance and basic equipment repairs.
• Keep preparation rooms and laboratories organised.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH guidance.
• Work closely with teachers and departmental colleagues.
