Job summary

Academics, a leading education recruitment agency, are recruiting on behalf of a school in Stone, Staffordshire, for a School Library Technician starting in November. The role is an approx. 8-week fixed-term contract, Monday-Thursday 9:00-4:30 and Friday 9:00-4:00.

You will manage issuing/returning books, help pupils and staff, operate reprographic equipment, and assist with admin tasks. You will supervise pupils and provide emergency first aid with the wider team.

Qualifications

• Organised and reliable, able to work independently.
• Experience in administrative, supervisory, library or school-based roles.
• Comfortable using IT and reprographic equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a positive environment for pupils.

Responsibilities

• Managing the issuing and returning of books and maintaining library records.
• Supporting pupils and staff using the library, including supervising small groups.
• Operating reprographic equipment: printing, photocopying, laminating and binding.
• Supporting general administration and IT-based tasks.
• Supervising pupils and maintaining behaviour in the library.
• Providing emergency first aid support to pupils with the wider team of first aiders.
