Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Primary Teaching Assistants for schools in Stockton-on-Tees and surrounding areas for September 2026 starts.

We offer long-term and full-time opportunities, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will support teachers and pupils across the Primary age range, helping deliver engaging learning and contributing to a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Experience within a Primary School setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
• Assist with targeted interventions and learning activities.
• Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Promote positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team.
• Support classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.
