Job summary

Doucecroft School, part of Autism Anglia, in Colchester, is seeking a Primary Teacher with Design & Technology experience to join a dedicated team. You will teach primary-age pupils with autism, planning differentiated lessons and delivering engaging D&T activities within a supportive environment.

The role involves meeting Teachers’ Standards, working with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to a nurturing school community. QTS and UK eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS and eligible to work in the UK.
• Bachelor’s/Undergraduate degree completed.
• Experience teaching in a Primary setting.
• Experience or interest in Design & Technology.
• Experience or training in special education preferred.
• Knowledge of SEN and autism experience is desirable.
• A full driving licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Meet the Teachers’ Standards and maintain professional practice.
• Provide high-quality education and care for pupils with autism.
• Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging Primary learning.
• Utilise D&T knowledge to enrich practical and creative learning across the curriculum.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team for consistent support.
• Manage day-to-day classroom organisation and supervision during breaks.
