Job summary

Connex Education is seeking a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work across primary schools in North Somerset (Nailsea, Yatton, Portishead, Clevedon and surrounding areas) from September 2026.

Roles include 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access the curriculum and develop independence for children with SEN. Flexible day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements available, with weekly PAYE and local opportunities across the region.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN is desirable.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children.
• Patient, caring and reliable demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in lessons.
• Support children with autism, ADHD, and communication or learning difficulties.
• Assist in developing pupils' confidence, independence and behaviour.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Adapt activities to individual needs and help pupils work towards targets and EHCP outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and collaborate with teachers and SENCOs.
