Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves in Croydon is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the Reception and Year 1 team from September, initially until July 2027.

You will provide classroom, small-group and 1:1 support, help children develop routines and regulate emotions, and work closely with teachers and the wider support staff to foster a caring, inclusive learning environment.

This role is ideal for graduates or experienced assistants aiming for a long-term career in Education.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with Reception, Year 1 or Early Years children is highly desirable.
• A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.
• The patience and emotional intelligence to support children who may become emotionally dysregulated.
• A calm, positive and energetic approach.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, small-group and 1:1 support across Reception and Year 1.
• Support children's learning, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Help children develop positive routines and regulate their emotions.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider support team.
• September start | Full-time | Initially until July 2027.
