Wayman Education is seeking a student-focused English Teacher who can help pupils strengthen their literacy, develop analytical abilities and achieve their academic goals. The role is a full-time maternity cover starting January 2027 at a Derbyshire school.

You will teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, plan lessons to improve reading comprehension and analytical writing, support GCSE revision, assess work and provide feedback, and contribute to department planning.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has experience teaching English in a secondary school.
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and clear communication.
• Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil progress.

Responsabilités

• Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan lessons that develop reading comprehension, analytical writing and creative expression.
• Support pupils with GCSE preparation and revision.
• Assess work and provide actionable feedback.
• Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet pupils' needs.
• Contribute to departmental meetings and curriculum planning.
