Job summary

Education Personnel are delighted to be partnering with a progressive Derby secondary school to recruit an English Teacher for an immediate start or January 2027. You will teach KS3/KS4 English with potential KS5 duties for experienced Derby teachers, contributing to a strong literacy focus across the department.

The role requires QTS and a minimum of six months' classroom experience in a UK secondary setting, with opportunities for ongoing CPD and school-wide collaboration.

Qualifications

• QTS required.
• Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in a UK secondary school.

Responsibilities

• Deliver KS3 & KS4 English curriculum; KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby.
• Plan, prepare and assess English Language and Literature lessons per department policy.
• Monitor student progress and implement GCSE interventions.
• Contribute to English department improvement planning.
• Attend staff meetings, CPD and parents' evenings as required.
