Job summary

hireful is seeking an English Lecturer to deliver engaging GCSE English lessons and support learners to achieve qualifications and progress into further education, training or employment.

The role requires a degree in a relevant subject and proven GCSE English teaching experience; teaching qualification preferred, with support available for those working towards it. The position is full-time, 37 hours per week, based at a Surrey campus with strong transport links.

Qualifications

• You will hold a degree in a relevant subject area and have proven experience teaching GCSE English.
• Ideally, you’ll have a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one with support.
• Recent graduates and career changers with GCSE English teaching experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons across GCSE and Functional Skills programmes.
• Assess, monitor and record learner progress, guiding students toward goals.
• Create an inclusive environment that encourages participation and confidence.
• Maintain learner records and contribute to course development.
