Job summary

hireful is seeking an English Lecturer to deliver GCSE English and Functional Skills, helping learners to build confidence and achieve their qualifications. The role is full-time, based at a Surrey campus with accessible transport links from nearby towns.

You will assess progress, maintain records and support learners to progress into further education or employment, while developing engaging lessons and employability skills for their future careers.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject area and proven GCSE English teaching experience.
• Teaching qualification preferred; willingness to work towards one with support.
• Excellent communication and ability to engage learners across abilities.

You’ll support young people and adults to develop their English skills and confidence, delivering engaging lessons that help them achieve their qualifications and progress into further education, training or employment.

A salary of up to £39,700is available depending on qualifications and experience, alongside an attractive benefits package, generous holiday entitlement and pension.

The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and based at a campus location within Surrey with good transport links from surrounding areas. Easily accessible from Woking, Ashford, Weybridge, Guildford, Walton-on-Thames, Esher, Epsom, Staines-upon-Thames and the wider Surrey area.

The Role...

About You...

• You’ll hold a degree in a relevant subject area and have proven experience teaching GCSE English.
• Ideally, you’ll have a recognised teaching qualification, although candidates willing to work towards one with support will also be considered.
• Recent graduates and those looking for a career change are encouraged to apply, provided they have the relevant subject knowledge and GCSE English teaching experience.
• You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly, engage learners and adapt your approach to different abilities.
• You’ll be confident using IT and able to work collaboratively with colleagues to support learner success.
• Most importantly, you’ll be passionate about English and committed to helping learners build their skills, confidence and future opportunities.
