Job summary

Avanti Meadows Primary School in Bishop’s Stortford is seeking an experienced Reception Teacher & Early Years Phase Lead to guide the Early Years team and raise standards across the phase. You will inspire colleagues through high-quality classroom practice, collaboration and professional development.

You will drive teaching and learning across the Early Years, using assessment and observation to ensure strong progress for every child and a nurturing, inclusive environment where wellbeing is

Qualifications

• Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in relevant subject or allied subject.
• QTS qualified.
• Ability to influence the quality of teaching and learning.

• Be able to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice and articulate what constitutes effective teaching and learning within your phase.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Early Years phase, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, assessment and outcomes with a focus on inclusion, progress and attainment.
• Provide leadership and support to phase staff, modelling classroom practice and developing colleagues’ teaching.
• Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment in Reception, maintaining high expectations for behaviour, independence and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with the senior leadership team, parents and external agencies to promote pupils’ wellbeing and effective transition.
• Monitor and evaluate standards across the phase through observation, assessment, moderation and data analysis.
