Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking Cover Supervisors for St Albans and surrounding areas. Immediate start with daily pay between £100-£130. The role is flexible, supporting a network of local secondary and middle schools, ensuring lessons run smoothly when teachers are absent.

You will deliver pre-planned work, manage classroom behaviour, and help pupils stay engaged while building valuable experience in a school setting. A consultant from Tradewind will assist in securing regular work.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally in a school setting.
• Confident classroom presence and good communication skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and adaptable across year groups.
• DBS Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Supervising lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Ensuring behaviour is managed in line with school policy
• Supporting pupils with tasks and maintaining engagement
• Providing brief feedback to staff at the end of the day
