Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Gateshead is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to deliver high-quality lessons across multiple schools. You will establish positive relationships with pupils and staff, maintain continuity of learning and manage varied classroom environments.

The role covers short- and long-term placements with daily and termly opportunities. You will follow pre-planned schemes, adapt to different year groups, and uphold safeguarding and school policies while providing clear feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high-quality teaching on various assignments.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Proven capability to maintain continuity of learning across placements.
• Understanding of safeguarding and keeping children safe in education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging pre planned lessons in line with school expectations.
• Follow lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning during staff absence.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet pupils' varying abilities including SEND and EAL.
• Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
• Assess pupil understanding and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Work with teaching assistants and school staff to support pupil progress.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.
• Provide clear handover notes on pupil progress and outcomes.
