Job summary

Paxman Academy invites applications for a Part-time Cover Supervisor to support learning during teacher absence. You will supervise classes, prepare and communicate cover work, and assist other departments when not covering.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, inclusion, and maintaining a positive learning environment, with full induction provided. This is a term-time plus non-pupil days post within a supportive Trust.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to young people’s welfare and education.
• Ability to establish rapport with children and maintain high standards of conduct.
• Experience with school policies on inclusion and safeguarding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence.
• Collate and organise cover work for teaching staff.
• Ensure external cover teachers understand the allocated cover work and information.
• Supervise pupils engaged in learning activities.
• Model high standards of conduct and behaviour.
• Promote inclusion and the wellbeing of all pupils in the classroom.
• Keep pupils on task and respond to general queries.
