Job summary

City of Norwich School - An Ormiston Academy, known locally as CNS, is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to supervise classes and ensure students complete work in the absence of the assigned teacher. The role is 31.25 hours per week during term time plus 1 week, 39 weeks, with working hours 8.15am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will need good numeracy, literacy and IT skills, strong communication, and the ability to build respectful relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Ability to work constructively as part of a team and understand classroom roles.
• Ability to encourage students to learn and manage behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes and ensure students complete work when the teacher is absent.
• Maintain appropriate codes of classroom behaviour and develop positive relationships with students.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, determination and a positive approach when working with young people.
• Set clear guidelines to support learning and discipline.
