Job summary

Worle Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, England, is seeking a Cover Supervisor on a permanent basis. You will lead lessons in the absence of a teacher, guiding students through pre-planned work and keeping them focused and safe, within a term-time schedule.

The role requires GCSE-equivalent qualifications in English and Maths, plus experience with young people. The position is 32.5 hours per week over 39 weeks per year, with a pro-rated salary outlined below.

Qualifications

• Hold at least GCSE-equivalent qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Background working with young people.

Responsibilities

• Guide classes through structured work left by teachers.
• Create a welcoming, focused and respectful classroom environment.
• Help students with work and tailor support for individuals or groups.
• Hand completed work back to teachers and share progress updates.
• Assist with break-time supervision or provide a quieter space to work.
