Job summary

Outwood Academy Valley is seeking a proactive Cover Supervisor to supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences and to assist in preparing the learning environment and materials. You will cover lessons using the set work, uphold high expectations to motivate students and manage behaviour to create a positive learning atmosphere.

The role includes organising the daily cover rota, contacting supply agencies to arrange staff, and supporting in the classroom when not covering.

Qualifications

• Excellent classroom management skills and ability to supervise whole classes during short-term absences.
• Ability to motivate students and maintain a constructive working environment across subjects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences and implement work set by teachers.
• Organise the daily cover rota for absent staff and contact teaching supply agencies to arrange supply staff.
• Support in the classroom as directed when cover is not required, promoting a positive learning environment.
