Job summary

St. Matthew’s Catholic Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team as soon as possible. The successful candidate will help maintain discipline, keep pupils engaged, and support learning while following school policies and safeguarding procedures.

You will work under the direction of senior staff, handle everyday classroom management, and respond to incidents with sensitivity and initiative to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all children.

Qualifications

• Will maintain good discipline in the classroom, ensuring pupils remain engaged and behave appropriately.
• Use initiative in all matters relating to the conduct and behaviour of individual pupils, groups of pupils and whole classes.
• Deal with any issues, immediate problems or emergencies that arise in line with school policies and procedures.
• Be vigilant and sensitive to safeguarding concerns and report them in line with school policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain discipline and engagement in classes.
• Follow school behaviour policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Liaise with colleagues on serious issues and emergencies.
• Support pupils with their learning and well-being within school policies.
