Job summary

Fakenham Academy is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our Cover Team to supervise classes during teacher absence and to provide flexible support across the school, including tutor-time supervision, breaks and pastoral and SEND assistance.

You will ensure learning continuity, give clear lesson instructions, keep students on task and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maintain high standards of behaviour and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Adaptable and resilient with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to gain respect of students aged 11–16.
• Experience working with young people is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absence and support learning.
• Provide tutor-time supervision, break/lunch duty and flexible support.
• Assist Pastoral and SEND teams and undertake admin tasks as needed.
• Ensure clear instructions are given and maintain student focus and safety.

Job description

We wish to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our Cover Team to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence and undertaking other duties such as tutor-time supervision, break/lunch duties, providing flexible support across the school by assisting the Pastoral and SEND teams and carrying out administrative tasks when required to ensure consistent care, support, and continuity of learning for all our students., As a Cover supervisor you will supervise whole classes to cover absences of teachers and to allow teachers to carry out professional duties and training. Cover supervisors will give instructions for the lesson, as provided by the teacher, and keep students on task while maintaining good order. Cover supervisors will respond to general questions and provide general feedback to the teacher.

Applicants must be adaptable and resilient with good interpersonal skills. The ability to gain the respect of students is essential. Applicants should ideally have had previous experience of working with young people between the ages of 11 to 16., The personal competencies expected of all support staff are:
