Job summary

Reed is seeking a Business Teacher to cover sickness absence at a Sixth Form College in Brighton. You will teach A Level Business and BTEC Level 3 Marketing, starting from the week commencing 5 October, delivering engaging lessons across multiple classes.

The role runs 8:30am–3:45pm, with potential extension. You should hold QTS/QTLS or equivalent, have experience with post-16 learners, and possess strong communication and classroom management skills.

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching A Level Business and/or BTEC Business/Marketing.
• Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively and engage post-16 learners.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Availability to start immediately and commit to the duration of the cover with potential extension.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons in BTEC Level 3 Year 1 Marketing and AQA A Level Business Year 2.
• Manage up to 4 classes per week across timetable blocks C, D, F, and G, spread over 5 days.
• Conduct sessions between 8:30 am and 3:45 pm, ensuring a stimulating learning environment.
• Utilise effective classroom management skills to maintain a positive and focused classroom atmosphere.
• Motivate and inspire sixth form learners to achieve their full potential in Business studies.
