Job summary

Access Garage Doors is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to support efficient warehouse operations and assist with delivering garage doors across the South East and Midlands from Crawley, West Sussex. The role is customer-facing and includes stock control, loading, and trade counter duties.

You will help manage daily warehouse movements, supervise loading teams, and step in as key holder when the Warehouse Manager is away. Training and a friendly working environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence with up to 3 points.
• Experience in warehouse operations and forklift use.
• Experience driving around the South East.
• Physically fit; heavy lifting involved.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Check vehicles are loaded with correct doors/spare parts.
• Cover driving to regular customers in the South East and Midlands.
• Unload garage doors/spares from vehicles.
• Lead the team with loading vehicles for next day deliveries.
• Store duties: picking, packing and courier system use.
• Trade counter support and handling enquiries.
• Handle new deliveries, check and book in.
• Warehouse movements, stock control, door rotation and prep for large deliveries.
• Key holder when Warehouse Manager is away.
• General warehouse duties, maintenance and van cleaning.
• Accurate use of Sage systems.
• Assist Capital Building Plastics with trade counter and deliveries.

Assistant Warehouse Manager

The Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for helping maintain efficient warehouse operations and help deliver garage doors around South East and Midlands areas. There will also be warehouse duties as listed below. This is a customer facing role.

Duties will include

• Responsible for checking vehicles are correctly loaded with correct doors/spare parts.
• Help cover driving to regular customers in the South East and Midlands areas.
• Unloading garage doors/spares from vehicles (customer not always present –so this will involve self-unloading garage doors)
• Lead the team with loading vehicles for next day’s deliveries
• Working in the stores during busy periods, which includes picking and packing correct items and using courier systems
• Trade counter work, helping customers with new enquiries, helping with product information and despatching doors.
• Dealing with new deliveries, checking off and booking in.
• Involved with warehouse movements, stock control, door rotation and prepping for larger deliveries.
• Key holder – looking after warehouse operations in absence of Warehouse Manager.
• General warehouse duties, maintenance and cleaning of vans.
• Accurate use of Sage systems.
• Helping Capital Building Plastics, cover the trade counter and delivering of good to customers.

Essential Skills/Competencies

• Clean Driving Licence, a maximum of 3 points is acceptable
• Experience in warehouse operations/forklift use.
• Experience of driving around the South East
• Physically fit;heavy lifting involved
• Excellent communication skills

Hours: 7:30am – 5.00pm Monday - Friday
