Job summary

Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth is seeking an Activities Coordinator working 12 hours per week from 10am to 4pm over two days, including alternate weekends. You will design, coordinate and deliver engaging activities for residents, enhancing companionship, mobility, and social interaction.

The role requires caring, reliable individuals with previous care home/activities experience. On offer are a close-knit team, pension, funded training up to QCF level 5, and flexible pay options.

Qualifications

• Companionship and engagement with residents.
• Design engaging activities plans with internal and external resources.
• Plan events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for residents.
• Interact with residents to tailor activities to their interests.
• Coordinate with external entertainers or businesses for visits or performances.
• Support mobility through activities to promote independence.
• Foster social activities and teamwork within the home.

Responsibilities

• Companionship and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will design an engaging activities plan with internal and external resources
• Event planning – planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties
• Resident interaction – converse with residents to see which activities they want to do and execute them
• External communications – liaising with entertainers or businesses to arrange visits
• Mobility - support independence through activities like Zumba or ballroom
• Social activities - trips, engagements and in-home activities for all abilities
• Team support - assist colleagues through shadowing and teamwork
