Job summary

Bosworth Care Home in Weymouth is seeking an Activities Coordinator for 12 hours per week, 10am–4pm over two days including alternate weekends. The role pays £12.85 per hour and is based at Bosworth Care Home, Southdown Avenue, Weymouth, DT3 6HR.

You will design engaging activities, provide companionship, plan events, and work with residents to promote wellbeing. A caring, reliable candidate with care‑home experience is preferred, and you must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK.
• Previous care home/activities experience required.
• Caring, positive and reliable individuals.

Responsibilities

• Companionship – providing support, engagement and interaction with residents.
• Creating activities – design an engaging activities plan internally and with external resources.
• Event planning – plan events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties.
• Resident interaction – discuss preferred activities and bring them to life.
• External communications – liaise with entertainers or businesses for visits.
• Mobility – support residents to live independently through activities.
• Social activities – coordinate trips, engagements and in-house activities.
• Team support – assist colleagues through shadowing and teamwork.

A day in the life of an Activities Coordinator

• Companionship- providing support, companionship, communication and engagement with residents
• Creating activities - you will be in charge of designing an engaging activities plan both internally and with external resources.
• Event planning – our Activities Coordinators are involved with planning events such as summer BBQs or Christmas parties for our residents.
• Resident interaction – you will always be in conversation with residents to see which activities they want to do and bringing them to fruition.
• External communications – as an Activities Coordinator you will be speaking with external entertainers or businesses to organise visits from entertainers or arranging for visits to businesses for the residents.
• Mobility - supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility through activities such as Zumba or ballroom or even things like balloon tennis.
• Social activities- trips out, social engagements and activities within the home for all abilities.
• Team support - helping new or existing colleagues through shadowing and teamwork, and supporting the smooth running of the home when required

• Previous care home/activities experience required
