Job summary

Project Freelance seeks a Windows Operations Engineer to manage and optimise a Windows domain environment, including user provisioning, patching, certificate rotations and incident handling. You will contribute to platform improvements and maintain operational docs to support a secure, reliable operations stack on-site in Farnborough.

The role requires experience with AD, Hyper-V and MECM/WSUS and a DV security clearance with an 18-week clearance process.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Windows desktop and server environments including AD, Hyper-V and MECM/WSUS.
• Experience in IT support or service desk operations.
• Enterprise Linux administration experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle ticket-based incident management and service requests.
• Perform administration tasks: provisioning, terminal installation/rebuilds, OS and application patching, certificate rotations.
• Maintain, secure, debug and improve the operations infrastructure.
• Deliver project-based platform improvements aligned with user-base priorities.

Windows Operations Engineer - Outside IR35

Role Description

We are seeking a Windows Operations Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimise an operations platform and Windows domain environment. This role will handle day-to-day support and administrative operations, including user/group provisioning, incident management, OS and application patching, certificate rotations, and terminal installation and troubleshooting.

Additionally, you will contribute to project-based initiatives that enhance the platform's usability, reliability and security.

Responsibilities

• Handle ticket-based incident management and service requests.


• Perform administration, including user/group provisioning, terminal installation/rebuilds, OS and application patching, and certificate rotations.


• Maintain, secure, debug, and improve the operations infrastructure.


• Deliver project-based platform improvements and perform administration in line with user-base priorities.


• Produce and maintain operational documentation and share knowledge regarding processes and the Windows domain.

Minimum Qualifications (MQs)

• Experience with Windows desktop and server administration (including Active Directory, Hyper-V and MECM/WSUS)


• Experience in support desk operations


• Enterprise Linux administration

Must hold security clearance to the Developed Vetting (DV) level

Location: Farnborough (on-site)
