Job summary

Proactive Appointments seeks an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join a client on a 6‑month contract, outside IR35. The role is on‑site in Gloucester, four days per week, with potential extension depending on project needs.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with configuration management, Terraform, container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift), Jenkins, monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana/InfluxDB), MQ messaging (RabbitMQ), SQL databases, Linux shell, security protocols, and

Qualifications

• Must hold a live UKIC DV
• Modern configuration management tools (such as Ansible, Chef or similar)
• Experience with Terraform
• Docker containers & container orchestration tools (such as Kubernetes, OpenShift or Docker Swarm)
• Using and maintaining CI / CD tools (such as Jenkins or similar)
• Experience with monitoring tools such as InfluxDB, Prometheus or Grafana
• Event-driven integration with MQ messaging (RabbitMQ or similar AMQP solution)
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Linux command line, administration and shell scripting
• Working knowledge of network security protocols
• Experience using, developing with and maintaining cloud hosting services (ideally AWS EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda)
