Job summary

Sopra Steria is recruiting an DV Cleared Infrastructure Engineer to join a 24/7, on‑site support team in Portsmouth. The role focuses on maintaining and improving mission‑critical infrastructure, resolving incidents, and enabling reliable services for secure systems.

Training and structured development are part of the programme. The ideal candidate has strong Wintel and ITIL experience, a proactive problem‑solver mindset, and current DV clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure support and operations.
• Strong Wintel experience and fault isolation abilities.
• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL‑based service management practices.
• Ability to work independently and within a technical team.
• Current DV Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage core infrastructure including servers, storage, networking and operating systems.
• Handle incidents, problems, requests, and changes in an ITIL‑aligned environment.
• Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive service improvements.
• Monitor live services for performance, availability and resilience.
• Support project delivery, testing and release activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes.
