Requirements
- Hold active DV clearance.
- Have strong experience with cloud technologies and platforms, particularly AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP.
- Have experience designing or implementing secure, scalable, resilient and highly available cloud architectures.
- Have experience with cloud migration or transformation, supporting the move of applications, infrastructure, or services into cloud environments.
- Have strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, compute and storage.
- Have experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep or similar.
- Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is beneficial.
- Understand DevOps and CI/CD practices and how cloud architecture supports modern software engineering and delivery.
- Have strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, secure configuration, monitoring and security controls.
- Have experience producing technical designs, architecture documentation and technology roadmaps, and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Have strong stakeholder and client engagement skills, including the ability to understand requirements, explain technical options and make recommendations.
- Have experience collaborating in multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Experience in Defence, National Security, Government or other secure and highly regulated environments is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients and multidisciplinary technical teams to understand complex requirements and design secure, scalable and resilient cloud solutions.
- Design and deliver cloud solutions that meet client requirements for security, scalability, resilience, performance and availability.
- Assess existing technology environments, define cloud architectures and technical roadmaps, and support the migration of applications, services and infrastructure to cloud environments.
- Translate business and technical requirements into practical cloud solutions in collaboration with architects, engineers and other specialists.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, technical documentation and design reviews, helping ensure solutions meet relevant security, engineering and architectural standards.
- Work with clients to explain technical options, understand their challenges and recommend cloud technologies and approaches.
- Depending on experience, develop cloud architectures, support migration and transformation programmes, provide technical guidance to engineering teams, or help clients shape their cloud strategy.

We are recruiting for a global consultancy expanding its Defence practice across teams and locations, supporting ambitious programmes in the Defence and National Security sector. This is a permanent Cloud Consultant role based in Bristol, Gloucestershire, London or Greater Manchester, with hybrid working of three days per week at a chosen site and travel to local UK client sites required. The role is 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £39,000–£100,000 per year.
