Job summary

Credera, a global consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect in the UK to shape cloud strategy and platform capabilities for diverse clients, including public sector engagements. You will advise senior stakeholders, lead delivery teams, design scalable and secure cloud solutions, and drive transformation programmes with a DevOps and platform engineering mindset.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in cloud architecture, strategy, engineering and large-scale delivery.
  • Professional-level AWS cloud architecture certification.
  • Deep expertise in AWS, Azure and GCP with secure, scalable platforms.
  • Experience defining cloud strategies, target architectures and roadmaps.
  • Experience leading complex enterprise cloud migrations and modernisation.
  • Strong DevOps, platform engineering and automation knowledge.
  • Experience implementing cloud security, governance and resilience controls in regulated environments.
  • Ability to lead multiple workstreams, manage large teams and escalate as needed.
  • Proven stakeholder influence and client delivery leadership.
  • Mentor engineers and client counterparts; client-facing delivery experience.
  • Must hold active UK BPSS and SC clearance; resident in UK for five years.

Job description

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of experience in cloud architecture, strategy, engineering, and large-scale transformation delivery
  • Professional-level AWS cloud architecture certification
  • Deep expertise in AWS services and cloud-native architectures, including designing secure, scalable, and resilient platforms
  • Experience defining cloud strategies, target architectures, operating models, and transformation roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Experience designing and leading complex enterprise cloud migration and modernisation programmes
  • Strong understanding of platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps practices
  • Experience implementing cloud security, governance, resilience, and compliance controls in public sector or regulated environments
  • Ability to lead multiple complex workstreams to time, cost, and quality with minimal direction; manage large teams and act as a key escalation point
  • Ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders and navigate client delivery environments
  • Experience assessing broader risks and forming multidisciplinary subject-matter expert teams to address complex challenges
  • Recognised expertise in cloud architecture, innovation, and cloud practices across clients or industries
  • Strong understanding of cloud financial management, operational excellence, and cost-effective cloud delivery
  • Experience mentoring engineers and architects and developing junior colleagues and client counterparts
  • Experience in client-facing consulting, delivering measurable business outcomes through technology transformation
  • Must hold active SC clearance; employment is subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance
  • For the specified client engagement, must have been resident in the UK for the previous five years and must not have spent more than six consecutive months outside the UK during that period
  • Desirable: public sector or regulated-industry experience, such as government, healthcare, or financial services
  • Desirable: experience with multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Desirable: hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Desirable: experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab
  • Desirable: experience designing cloud landing zones, platform engineering capabilities, and cloud operating models
  • Desirable: strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, security, and resilience patterns
  • Desirable: experience supporting cloud engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering transformations
  • Desirable: additional public cloud architecture certifications in Azure or GCP
  • Desirable: experience using AI or agentic techniques, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
  • Desirable: familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimisation frameworks
