Overview

The Campbell Centre are looking to recruit into the Charge Nurse / Duty Senior Nurse role.

The postholder will be responsible for leading the nursing team and ensuring a high quality of patient care and will work with the staff to ensure that the process of assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care is of an excellent standard.

The post holder will demonstrate active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals.

Role and Responsibilities
  • The Duty Senior Nurse/Charge Nurse will offer leadership, support, advice and expertise to the clinical teams, leading on clinical and managerial issues when the staff teams themselves are unable to do so, reporting all relevant information to the Senior Management, leading on admission processes, ensuring effective patient care and patient flow.
  • The Duty Senior Nurse will work collaboratively with the police officers to facilitate access to the HBPoS and organise Mental Health Assessments with Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) for individuals who have been detained.
  • The Charge Nurse will work with the staff to ensure that the process of assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care is of an excellent standard.
  • The postholder will be responsible for leading the nursing team and supporting Ward Manager by active involvement in service development.
  • The post holder will undertake the role Duty Senior Nurse and have responsibility for liaising with internal and external agencies.
  • The main role of the DSN is to offer leadership, support, advice and expertise to the clinical teams, leading on clinical and managerial issues when the staff teams themselves are unable to do so, reporting all relevant information to the Senior Management, leading on admission processes, ensuring effective patients care and patient flow.
  • The DSN will also work collaboratively with the police officers to facilitate access to the HBPoS and organise Mental Health Assessment with AMHP for detained individuals.
