Job summary

Park Hyatt London River Thames, part of Hyatt Hotels, invites applications for a Duty Engineer to uphold high standards of building maintenance and guest comfort across the hotel.

You will perform electrical, mechanical, air‑conditioning, fire protection, carpentry and plumbing tasks, with planned preventive maintenance and strict safety compliance; strong team and guest interaction skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong maintenance and engineering background in hotels.
• Good knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out engineering tasks and maintenance in guest rooms, public areas and back of house.
• Perform repairs to electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, fire protection, carpentry and plumbing.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance in plant rooms, bedrooms and public areas.
• Regularly inspect the building with attention to safety features and equipment.
• Work with security to oversee Health & Safety.

Duties and tasks related to the Duty Engineer role include

• Being responsible for carrying out any required engineering or maintenance tasks
• Performing repairs and maintenance in guest bedrooms, public and back of house areas, ensuring they are maintained to a high level and exceed guest expectations
• Conducting general repairs and maintenance including electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, fire protection, carpentry, and plumbing, ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule and compliant with required standards and safety regulations
• Completing planned preventive maintenance within the plant rooms, bedrooms and public areas
• Regularly inspect the entire building with particular attention to safety features and to monitor thecondition of all operating equipment
• Working closely with the security departing in overseeing Health & Safety

About You

You should have a strong understanding of general maintenance and engineering tasks in a hotel and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. A qualification in specialised areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing is beneficial. Asyou will have regular interaction with our guests, excellent communicationskills are essential.Proficient knowledge of IT systems and troubleshooting IT issues is desirable.
