Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Duty Access Supervisor for the NZT project at Redcar. The role focuses on controlling site traffic, delivering inductions, and coordinating with drivers to ensure safe, compliant deliveries.

You will operate the delivery management system, brief security and TM teams, and ensure PPE and unload procedures are followed on site. A proactive, safety-minded approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Current qualification in either Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).
• Current Construction Skills Certification Scheme card (CSCS).

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Duty Access Supervisor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

Role purpose

the main role of the Duty Access supervisor is to ensure vehicle compliance, complete briefing and inductions for delivery drivers, to operate the Delivery management system and ensure deliveries to and from site run smoothly and without incidents.

What you'll be doing

• Manage all construction traffic in and out of the access.
• Managing any reversing manoeuvres when required.
• Manage coordination with site escort drivers and traffic management
• Manage and process all deliveries including Couriers.
• Conduct driver inductions and provide driver briefing to all HGV’s, LGV’s and couriers on the site traffic management plan, site speed limits, parking, offload points and ensuring correct PPE etc.
• Provide a daily briefing to any security staff and TM teams, on any changes to the site traffic management plan.
• Ensure goods and equipment are directed to the correct unload point within the site.
• Monitor routes to site within Tees Works boundary.
• Ensure vehicle is compliant and safe to be on site, in line with site rules.
• Record and populate paperwork/tablet with all deliveries.
• Report any non-compliant deliveries back to BB logistics.
• Responsible for ensuring vehicles leaving site are clean, using wheel washes where applicable and brushing tail gates on tippers where required.
• Managing the risk at the construction site entry and exit point to prevent incidents, damage or near miss occurrences.
• Managing and controlling the vehicle traffic in and out of site
• Knowing delivery schedule and reporting any deviations
• Taking appropriate action in the event of an incident, collision or dangerous occurrence
• Ability to set a project example and professionalism

Who we're looking for

• Current qualification in either Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).
• Current Construction Skills Certification Scheme card (CSCS).

Experience And Key Skill

• Proven experience in a similar role
• A knowledge of the Delivery Management systems is advantageous
• Able to work in a high-pressured environment.
• Working knowledge of FORS/CLOCS is advantageous.
• Experience in construction site logistics is preferable.
• Knowledge and practical use of Excel and PowerPoint packages is preferable.
• Experience of managing a team is preferable.
