King Edward VI School in Southampton seeks enthusiastic freelance instructors to support the Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions during practice or qualifier trips. You will hold current First Aid and DofE qualifications and commit to safeguarding young people.

Bronze expeditions will take place in the New Forest on 19-20 March, 17-18 April, 18-19 April, 12-13 June and 19-20 June 2027. Interviews begin the week of 02 November 2026.

Formación

• Must hold current First Aid certification and DofE instructor qualifications.
• Experience delivering Duke of Edinburgh expeditions is required.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expeditions in the New Forest.
• Support practice or qualifier expeditions and coordinate with school staff.
• Ensure safety, keep accurate records, and comply with safeguarding checks.

Duke of Edinburgh Freelance Instructor at King Edward VI School

The Duke of Edinburgh programme is hugely valued at King Edward VI school and plays a big part in the co-curricular programme. We are seeking enthusiastic freelance instructors to support the expedition section of the Award during the practice or qualifier expeditions. We are looking for those who share a passion for the outdoors and have an understanding of the value the Duke of Edinburgh Award brings to young people.

You will hold and maintain valid qualifications and certifications required to deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Award program, including current First Aid certification. King Edward VI School’s DofE department is run by a DofE Award Manager and Assistant Manager who lead most of the expeditions.

The Bronze Expeditions will take place in the New Forest, and we require instructors on the following dates in 2027:

19-20 March

17-18 April

18-19 April

12-13 June

19-20 June
