Job summary

The King Edmund School is seeking a Workshop Technician to maintain and prepare workshop machinery and tools, set up materials for lessons, and support CAD/CAM and woodworking/metalwork processes. You will help deliver demonstrations, supervise students during practicals, and assist with after-school clubs and DT enrichment activities.

This role requires a proactive team player who prioritises safety, keeps equipment well stored and disposed of correctly, and contributes to a positive, ambitious

Qualifications

• Experience with workshop environments and safety practices.
• Ability to set up materials for lessons and practical activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and preparing workshop machinery and tools (saws, lathes, drills, CNC router, etc.).
• Setting up materials and resources for lessons.
• Supporting CAD/CAM and woodworking/metalwork processes.
• Ensuring safe storage and disposal of materials.
• Assisting with classroom demonstrations, student supervision, repairs and fabrication.
• Helping to deliver after-school clubs and DT enrichment activities.
