Job summary

Steer Staffing is recruiting for Drivers Mate roles in the Cardiff area, working on an ADOC basis to cover high volume periods. You will support drivers with delivering customer orders, pre-call customers before arrival and handle paperwork while ensuring packaging is removed from deliveries.

The ideal candidate has experience in a similar role, can lift heavy items, and communicate well with customers. A clean DBS is required. Hours are 7am–6pm, with pay at £12.81 per hour and weekly pay.

Responsibilities

• Assist drivers with multi-drop deliveries and lifting heavy items.
• Ensure correct products reach respective destinations on time.
• Warmly communicate with customers during deliveries and pre-call before arrival.
• Follow delivery routes and complete required paperwork.
• Remove packaging from deliveries after handover.

You will be supporting the drivers with delivering customers orders to their houses and office sites, route plans are put together for your daily.

This role will be on an ADOC basis, to cover the needs of the business, supporting with high volume and sickness cove

A DBS check will be required for this role.

The duties of the Drivers Mate includes:

• Lifting heavy items and completing a multi-drop driving role
• Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time
• Making every customer encounter memorable. Yes, you will need to love supporting the driver and being on the road, but you will need to love helping customers too.
• Following a delivery route
• Pre calling customers before arrival
• Filling in paperwork as and when required
• Removing all packaging from each delivery

The ideal Drivers Mate will have:

• Experience within a similar role
• The ability to lift heavy items
• Communicate with customers
• A clean DBS

The hours of work for the Drivers Mate are 7am – 6pm

The salary for the Drivers Mate will be £12.81 per hour, paid weekly.

Salary: £12.81/hour Overtime paid over 45 hours
