Job summary

Steer Staffing is seeking a Driver's Mate to join a distribution and delivery operation in Carmarthen. You will support drivers with deliveries to homes and offices, following daily route plans and assisting with loading and paperwork.

The role requires a DBS check and offers a 7am–6pm schedule with £12.81 per hour, paid weekly. This is a temporary position based in SA31, Llanllwch, Carmarthenshire.

Qualifications

• Experience in a driver mate or delivery role.
• Ability to lift heavy items and meet physical demands.
• Excellent customer communication and service.
• A clean DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

• Support drivers with multi-drop deliveries to homes and sites.
• Assist with loading/unloading and route adherence.
• Prepare and complete delivery paperwork as required.
• Ensure correct items are delivered to correct locations and times.

You will be supporting the drivers with delivering customers orders to their houses and office sites, route plans are put together for your daily.

This role will be on an ADOC basis, to cover the needs of the business, supporting with high volume and sickness cove

A DBS check will be required for this role.

The duties of the Drivers Mate includes:

• Lifting heavy items and completing a multi-drop driving role
• Ensuring the right products get to the right places at the right time
• Making every customer encounter memorable. Yes, you will need to love supporting the driver and being on the road, but you will need to love helping customers too.
• Following a delivery route
• Pre calling customers before arrival
• Filling in paperwork as and when required
• Removing all packaging from each delivery

The ideal Drivers Mate will have:

• Experience within a similar role
• The ability to lift heavy items
• Communicate with customers
• A clean DBS

The hours of work for the Drivers Mate are 7am – 6pm

The salary for the Drivers Mate will be £12.81 per hour, paid weekly.

Salary: £12.81/hour Overtime paid over 45 hours
