Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Drivers Mate for the Store to Home team in Bristol. The role is full-time and permanent, Tue–Sat, starting at 06:00, with a 48-hour week. You will support the driver in delivering products to customer premises and ensure excellent service.

Applicants should be prepared for manual handling tasks, possess good customer service skills, and be willing to undergo a DBS check while commuting to Bristol BS37 5QR for shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in multi-drop home delivery is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to perform manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing.
• Can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment DBS check.
• Be prepared to commute to Bristol (BS37 5QR) for the shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a two-person team delivering products to customer premises.
• Assist the delivery driver with parking, manoeuvring, loading and unloading.
• Provide effective customer service and ensure goods are delivered in good condition.
• Keep customers informed of estimated delivery times and communicate any issues politely.

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Bristol (BS37 5QR).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Tuesday to Saturday, with a start time at 06:00. The role is contracted to 48 hours per week.

As a Drivers Mate, you’ll receive:

• An hourly rate of £12.71, that is an annual salary of £31,724.16

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Work as a part of two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice)
• Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
• Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing
• Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
