Job summary

GXO is seeking a Drivers Mate to join the Store to Home team in Coventry (CV3 2JD). The role is full-time and permanent with a two-week rotating shift pattern (Mon-Fri Week 1 / Sun-Thu Week 2) starting at 11:00, 40 hours per week.

You will work in a two-person team delivering products to customers’ premises and supporting the driver with loading and unloading. The position includes a competitive hourly rate, overtime, pension, store discounts, and access to GXO University.

Qualifications

• Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential.
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to undertake manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of two-person team delivering products to customer’s premises (room of choice) on multi-drop basis – an average of 16 drops per day off peak and 24 drops per day in peak season.
• Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading vehicles as and when required.
• Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition.
• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner.

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Coventry (CV3 2JD).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, following a two-week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 – Monday to Friday / Week 2 – Sunday to Thursday, with a start time of 11:00. The role is contracted to 40 hours per week.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential

• Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing
• Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS check)
• Be prepared to commute to Coventry (CV3 2JD) for the required shift pattern
